• primarly Shooting Guard, but played solid minutes as Small Forward in small-ball lineups
• can shoot from all over the floor
• drives good, not avoiding contacts
• adequate spot-up shooter with correct shooting mechanics
• good movement without the ball
• dribbles equally with both hands
• solid agressiveness on offensive rebounds (1,8 offensive boards per 40 minutes, 35% of career rebounds coming on offensive glass)
• unselfish player with adequate passing abilities, have some nice passing solutions when he is double-teamed or finds himself in difficult position

Defense

• can guard multiple positions
• very agressive 1-on-1 defender
• good stealing abilities, using hi quick hands and solid anticipation to gain 1,2 steals during his career, respectively 1,9 steals per 40 minutes
• solid help-side and off the ball defense

Weaknesses
Athleticism

• lack of muscularity, looks pretty thin and weak
• needs to improve offensive first step

Offense

• questionable left handed drives
• sometimes gets overly confident, in which situations he takes unnecesarrily shots
• needs to improve his shot selection
• sometimes rushing into the crowd
• must improve finishing arround the rim

Defense

• have trouble defending quicker opponents
• sometimes overly agressive on cutting the pass, so he gets out of positions
• poor low-post defense, gets pushed away too easy
• should be more agressive on defensive rebounds

Overall

J.P. Macura is solid Swingman with solid athleticism, good spot-up shooter and agressive defender. He plays with great passion and doesn't avoid hustle plays. On the other hand, he is only below average when finishing with pull-up jumpers or lay-ups, he have to gain body strenght and be more patient on defense.
Macura will surely make good overseas career, not maybe in top overseas teams, but surely in some of top overseas leagues.
